Karnataka: BJP leader Vijayendra criticises Congress over reservations and price hikes
BJP president B Y Vijayendra accused the Congress government of failing to fill vacant posts and neglecting the reservation issue in court.
Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra has launched a verbal attack on Congress leaders regarding the state government's management of the reservation issue in the High Court, according to the Deccan Herald.
Vijayendra alleged that the Congress government failed to use the opportunity provided by the Supreme Court and did not present a proper case. He claimed the party had spent three years of the court's time by not appearing when necessary and prolonging proceedings.
The BJP leader also accused Congress of using the reservation issue as a pretext to avoid filling 2.5 lakh vacant government posts in the state. He stated that the government is now attempting to shift blame onto Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Vijayendra further criticised the rising costs of milk, curd, and other essential commodities. He said the Congress-led government provided these price hikes as a gift for Deepavali and Rajyotsava and noted that bus fares may also increase soon.
He alleged that the government is causing distress by raising prices of essential goods every three to six months. He added that with the rising costs of petrol and diesel, even married couples are being forced to reconsider having children.
