CPI(M) and TMC are working together to create anarchy, says Suvendu Adhikari
The West Bengal Chief Minister alleged a new alliance between the two parties is intended to bring back days of unrest.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari alleged on Saturday that the CPI(M) and the Mamata All India Trinamool Congress have joined forces to cause anarchy in West Bengal. Speaking at a 'Save Democracy' meeting in Garbeta, Paschim Medinipur, Adhikari claimed the two parties have become 'brothers-in-arms' due to a new relationship between CPI(M) general secretary M A Baby and former CM Mamata Banerjee, according to The New Indian Express.
Adhikari said the CPI(M) is attempting to expand its influence by exploiting the division within the Trinamool Congress that occurred after the West Bengal assembly elections. He stated that the two parties aim to return the state to a period of unrest and predicted they would be defeated in the upcoming Kolkata and Howrah civic polls.
The Chief Minister said he would reopen criminal cases regarding an armed attack in Nandigram during the 2007 anti-land acquisition agitation and the 2001 massacre of TMC supporters in Choto Angaria village. He asserted that no one involved in those incidents would be spared.
Regarding governance, Adhikari noted that the BJP government has been in power for six months and has strengthened border security. He said the state has joined Union government welfare schemes, including Ayushman Bharat and PM Kisan, and has increased remunerations for state workers.
Adhikari also mentioned that 1.65 crore women received Annapurna Yojana benefits in October. He stated that the government will issue a notification for 9,000 more police recruitments in November, following a notification for 5,900 recruits issued on Friday.
