Amit Shah dares Rahul Gandhi to debate SIR issue in Parliament

The Union Home Minister said the government is prepared to hold a special session to discuss the Special Intensive Revision drive.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the government is prepared to hold a special session of Parliament to debate the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) issue. Speaking in Hyderabad during the BJP's 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' padayatra, Shah challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to participate in the debate.

According to reports by The Hindu and India TV, Shah accused the Congress of attempting to protect Bangladeshi infiltrators. He stated that the BJP would ensure every infiltrator is removed from electoral rolls and emphasised that only Indian citizens should be permitted to vote.

Shah questioned how Congress formed governments in states like Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Himachal Pradesh if EVMs are faulty. He remarked that Gandhi can only become Prime Minister in a mock Parliament and accused the INDIA bloc of seeking limelight through anarchy.

The Home Minister also targeted Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, alleging he has turned the state into an ATM for the Congress. Shah claimed that while Congress was involved in corruption worth Rs 12 lakh crore during its 10-year rule, the government has taken action against terrorism through surgical strikes and airstrikes.

Addressing the opposition's 'vote chori' allegations, Shah said that if a Parliament session is held, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will defeat the Congress in debate. He further stated that the country would be made drug-free before December 31, 2029.
