BRS launches North Telangana tour to target Congress over agrarian issues

Party working president KT Rama Rao is conducting public meetings and field visits to highlight farmer grievances and government policy failures.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has launched a political campaign across North Telangana to highlight agrarian distress and grievances of farmers, according to Telangana Today. Party working president KT Rama Rao began the series of public meetings and field visits in Adilabad on Sunday.

The campaign, using the slogan "Rythu Garjana", aims to highlight what the BRS describes as the failed promises and betrayal of farmers by the Revanth Reddy government. Rama Rao is visiting the families of farmers who ended their lives because of debt and crop losses, while also providing financial aid to those bereaved families.

The BRS has accused the Congress government of stopping the Rythu Bima scheme, which previously offered financial support to the families of deceased farmers. The party is focusing on Adilabad, where six farmers died by suicide in October.

Following a meeting in Adilabad on Sunday, the BRS has scheduled three more meetings over the next month. Rama Rao will address meetings in Nirmal on November 11 and Nizamabad on November 19, followed by a Deeksha Diwas rally and public meeting in Karimnagar on November 29.

BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao has also been conducting field visits in Siddipet, Gajwel, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Kumuram Bheem Asifabad. He has been inspecting withered paddy fields and highlighting issues such as irrigation water and power shortages, procurement delays, and delayed Rythu Bharosa financial assistance.

Other senior leaders, including former Ministers P Sabitha Indra Reddy and G Jagadish Reddy, are also touring their districts to reach out to farmers.
