CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke meets Mamata Banerjee in Delhi

Abhijeet Dipke said the Cockroach Janta Party will not join the INDIA bloc rally but stands in solidarity with the cause.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke met Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee in Delhi on Saturday to thank her for supporting the outfit's youth-led protests. According to the Times of India, Dipke expressed gratitude for Banerjee's support during the CJP's first protest at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak issue.

Dipke noted that Banerjee stood firmly with the movement when CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were arrested by the Delhi Police. He said he met her to say thank you because she had been strongly with the youth movement.

While expressing solidarity with the INDIA bloc's rally at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, Dipke stated that the CJP would not participate. He said the organisation is an independent and neutral platform that intends to maintain its own identity.

Dipke added that the CJP would support any organisation campaigning against alleged electoral irregularities or vote theft. The Sunday rally is expected to focus on these alleged irregularities and demand accountability from the Election Commission.

Banerjee, who is in Delhi to attend the rally, commended Dipke and the young activists for their efforts regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the Election Commission. She described the group as the pioneers and founders of the movement.

Banerjee also invited Dipke and other activists to organise programmes in West Bengal, noting that the decision to hold events in Kolkata would be theirs to make.
