BCCI extends IPL player retention deadline to November 17
Franchises have two additional days to finalise squads before the mini-auction takes place in Goa on December 16.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended the deadline for Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises to submit their player retention lists by two days, according to reports by Sportstar and The Hindu.
The new deadline is November 17, replacing the original cut-off of November 15. This extension is understood to have been prompted by the India-New Zealand ODI series, as the fifth match is scheduled for November 15 at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
The BCCI has also outlined the timeline for the upcoming mini-auction in Goa on December 16. Player registration opened on Monday and will close on November 23.
Franchises must submit the list of players they wish to bid for by December 1. The final auction register, which includes the order of player sets, will be released on December 3.
The auction itself will coincide with India’s second ODI against Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The BCCI has not yet indicated any rescheduling of that ODI.
