South Africa make two changes to squad for Bangladesh Test series
David Bedingham and Kyle Verreynne have been dropped from the 15-member squad following the series win against Australia.
South Africa have named a 15-member squad for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, omitting David Bedingham and Kyle Verreynne, according to India Today. Captain Temba Bavuma will lead the side, which recently reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test rankings after winning a series against Australia 2-1.
The squad includes the return of Tony de Zorzi, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, and batter Zubayr Hamza. Fast bowler Anrich Nortje also returns after a two-week groin injury, joining Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, Dane Paterson, and Corbin Bosch in the pace attack.
The first Test will take place at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg from November 15 to 19, while the second Test is scheduled for SuperSport Park in Centurion from November 23 to 27. The Proteas squad will assemble in Johannesburg on November 11.
Head coach Shukri Conrad said the team aims to carry momentum from the Australia series into the next assignment. He noted that surfaces on the Highveld traditionally favour pace and bounce, suggesting a focus on seam-bowling options.
The squad consists of Temba Bavuma, Marques Ackerman, Matthew Breetzke, Corbin Bosch, Tony de Zorzi, Simon Harmer, Zubayr Hamza, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Wiaan Mulder, Anrich Nortje, Dane Paterson, Kagiso Rabada, and Ryan Rickelton.
