Australia women's tour of South Africa rescheduled due to Champions Trophy

The maiden multi-format series will now take place from March 24 to April 18, 2027, following the ICC Women's Champions Trophy.

Australia’s maiden tour of South Africa has been moved to follow the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, according to reports from The Tribune and ANI. The rescheduled tour will run from March 24 to April 18, 2027.

The ICC Women’s Champions Trophy is set to be held in India between February 14 and 28, 2027. The T20I tournament will feature six teams: Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, with matches played in Mumbai and Vadodara.

The South Africa tour will begin with a three-match T20I series in Kimberley, Benoni, and Potchefstroom. This will be followed by three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in Durban, Paarl, and Gqeberha, before concluding with a one-off Test match.

The Test match is scheduled for April 15 to 18 at the Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium in KuGompo City, marking the first Women’s Test at the venue.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said hosting Australia for the first time would be a special occasion. Moseki expressed appreciation to both Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia for confirming the new dates after the Champions Trophy scheduling.

Australia recently won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England, while South Africa finished as semi-finalists after losing to England.
