Adelaide Strikers sign Haris Rauf for BBL 16

The Pakistan fast bowler joins the franchise for the entire tournament following a five-season period with the Melbourne Stars.

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the 16th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL), according to The Hawk.

Rauf will be available for the entire competition, joining other overseas players Ben Stokes of England and Mark Chapman of New Zealand.

The pacer previously played five seasons for the Melbourne Stars, where he took 56 wickets. His career-best BBL figures are 5-27 against the Hobart Hurricanes.

Rauf first entered the league during the ninth edition after an injury to Dale Steyn. He later won the Golden Arm award as the leading wicket-taker in BBL 14.

Strikers coach Tim Paine said Rauf is a proven match-winner and one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket who can change a game in an instant.

Rauf said he is excited to play at the Adelaide Oval alongside players such as Ben Stokes, Matt Short, and Mark Chapman.
