The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for five southern districts as the system moves towards the Andhra Pradesh coast.
Cyclone Murasu is expected to bring heavy rainfall to parts of Odisha, particularly in the south, over the coming days, according to the Deccan Chronicle.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri for November 3 and 4. These areas may see heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations.

The IMD forecasts the system will intensify into a severe cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal on Monday, crossing the coast by the morning of November 3.
During landfall, wind speeds could reach 100-110 kmph with gusts hitting 120 kmph. The system is expected to influence Odisha starting Sunday, with some areas seeing light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.
On Monday, Ganjam and Gajapati may receive 7 cm to 12 cm of rain at isolated spots. On November 3, heavy rain is also forecast for Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha, and Puri. On November 4, heavy rainfall may continue in Nuapada, Bolangir, and Bargarh.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and rain in 16 districts. Rainfall is expected to decrease from November 5, with intensity reducing further on November 6 and 7.
