Two female students found dead in hostel rooms in Telangana and Chennai

A second-year LLB student died in Karimnagar on Sunday, while a postgraduate medical student was found dead in Tambaram on Thursday.

A 24-year-old LLB second-year student allegedly died by suicide at Satavahana University in Karimnagar on Sunday, according to Telangana Today.

The student, identified as D Chandrakala from Shadnagar in Ranga Reddy district, was discovered hanging in her hostel room. Her body was moved to a government general hospital for a post-mortem as investigations continue.

Student unions have demanded a probe, alleging that academic pressure may have led to the death. University officials, however, suspect personal reasons were the cause.

In a separate incident, a 26-year-old postgraduate Siddha medical student was found dead in her hostel at the National Institute of Siddha in Tambaram on Thursday, Deccan Chronicle reported.

The deceased, identified as Chembagavalli from Kumbakonam, was found hanging after her roommates returned from a walk and found her room locked from the inside.

Police stated that Chembagavalli was preparing for Central government recruitment examinations and was reportedly under stress regarding the difficulty of the papers. The Tambaram police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances.
