Man dies after recovery agents hit his motorcycle in Nelamangala
The 39-year-old victim died at a Bengaluru hospital after agents allegedly tried to seize his vehicle over unpaid loan instalments.
A 39-year-old man, Murali, died at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday night after being knocked off his motorcycle in Nelamangala.
The incident occurred on October 28 near Budihalu while Murali was travelling from Nelamangala to his native village. Three finance company recovery agents allegedly intercepted him regarding unpaid loan instalments.
According to a complaint, Murali told the agents he would stop further ahead, but the agents allegedly pursued him and kicked his moving motorcycle. This caused him to lose control and fall, resulting in serious injuries.
Murali was already undergoing regular dialysis for kidney failure. His existing health condition and the injuries from the fall reportedly complicated his medical treatment.
The deceased's wife, Lalitha, and other family members have demanded action against the agents, whom they hold responsible for his death. The Nelamangala Rural police have registered a case.
A special police team has been formed to locate and arrest the three accused agents, who are currently absconding.
