Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrated with procession and folk performances in Delhi
Hundreds of people marched to Karnataka Bhavan in Chanakyapuri to mark the occasion with traditional music and flag hoisting.
Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated with a procession and folk performances at Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday, according to the Deccan Herald.
Hundreds of people, including children and elders, gathered at the Delhi Karnataka Sangha on Rao Tula Ram Marg for the march to Chanakyapuri.
Participants waved the yellow-and-red Kannada flag and chanted slogans while folk dance troupes performed along the route.
The event concluded at Karnataka Bhavan, where former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Delhi Special Representative T B Jayachandra, and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president B.K. Hariprasad hoisted the national and state flags.
During the singing of Vande Mataram, Siddaramaiah gestured for the performance to stop after the fifth stanza, following a state government circular that restricts official versions to the first two stanzas.
Resident Commissioner Sameer Shukla helped organise the event, which was also attended by Delhi Karnataka Sangha president R Renukumar.
