J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah marries journalist Nidhi Razdan
The marriage was solemnised in New Delhi on Friday under the Special Marriage Act.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah married journalist Nidhi Razdan in New Delhi on Friday, according to reports from The Pioneer and Telangana Today.
Abdullah announced the news on X on Saturday, stating that a new journey had begun. He shared photographs of the couple in wedding attire, including a ring emoji.
The marriage was conducted under the Special Marriage Act with family members from both sides serving as witnesses. Attendees included Abdullah's parents, Farooq Abdullah and Mollie, and Razdan's parents, MK Razdan and Sarla Razdan.
This follows the dissolution of Abdullah's previous marriage to Payal. The Supreme Court dissolved that marriage by mutual consent on July 31, 2026, after a mediated settlement.
The couple, who married in 1994, had lived separately since 2009 and have two sons, Zahir and Zamir. The Supreme Court exercised its powers under Article 142 of the Constitution to settle the matter.
Nidhi Razdan, 49, is a journalist and the former executive editor of NDTV. This is her second marriage.
