PM Modi attends Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade in Ekta Nagar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated development projects worth over Rs 400 crore in Gujarat on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on Saturday to mark National Unity Day. The occasion commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

During the celebrations, the National School of Drama presented a special show titled 'Naxal Mukt Bharat'. Approximately 2,000 artists from 126 districts affected by Left-Wing Extremism participated in the performance to depict local challenges and the transition toward peace and development.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various projects valued at more than Rs 400 crore. These works involve water and sewage treatment, lighting for facades, Narmada Ghat upgrades, an IRCTC hotel, and the Rainforest, Unity and Eco Trail.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation for the Gora-Bhandra Road Development, a zero-waste smart solid waste management project, and the Khalwani Eco Tourism Development. Other projects include the integrated development of the Cactus and Butterfly Garden.

Modi paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity. Since 2014, Patel's birthday has been observed as National Unity Day to recognise his role in aligning princely states with the Indian Union.
