UP Minister Danish Azad Ansari targets Akhilesh Yadav over Rajya Sabha seats

The Uttar Pradesh Minister alleged that the Samajwadi Party uses the PDA slogan for votes but ignores those communities in power sharing.

Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari on Sunday questioned Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav regarding the representation of Dalits, Muslims, and backward classes in the party. According to a report by ANI, Ansari alleged the party failed to include these groups when choosing candidates for two Rajya Sabha seats.

Ansari claimed the SP nominated a wealthy and influential family member instead of representatives from the PDA (Pichhde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) communities. He stated that the party invokes the PDA concept to gather votes but neglects these groups when distributing power and benefits.

The Minister said the double standards of the SP have been revealed to the people of Uttar Pradesh. He further predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would return to power in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Earlier, on October 22, Akhilesh Yadav stated that his party is united to form the government in 2027. Yadav said the BJP would be wiped out in the state and expressed support for a caste census.

Yadav noted that many political parties, especially those representing marginalised groups, are demanding a caste census. He said communities such as the Bind, Nishad, and Kashyap want reservation to be granted in proportion to their population.
