Light a diya for soldiers and police this Diwali, says Rekha Gupta

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta asked residents to show gratitude to security forces and sanitation workers during the upcoming festival.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday requested citizens to light a diya to honour the country's soldiers, armed forces, and police personnel this Diwali, according to ANI.

Gupta stated that residents can celebrate the festival peacefully with their families because lakhs of soldiers are deployed round the clock to guard the borders.

The Chief Minister suggested that lighting a diya would serve as a symbol of respect, gratitude, and solidarity for those performing duties to protect society during festivals.

Gupta also expressed appreciation for sanitation workers, noting that they work with dedication to maintain the cleanliness and beauty of the national capital during celebrations.

Describing Diwali in Delhi as special due to the city's diversity and cultural unity, the Chief Minister said the festival should strengthen values of mutual respect and cooperation.

Gupta concluded by wishing Delhi residents happiness, prosperity, and well-being.
