BDA begins preparatory work for Bengaluru skydeck project

The Bangalore Development Authority has finalised 46.25 acres of land for the 250-metre-high skydeck in west Bengaluru.

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has finalised land for a 250-metre-high skydeck and started preparatory work to invite design proposals, according to The Hindu.

The project, which received Cabinet approval in August 2024, is estimated to cost up to ₹500 crore.

The selected 46.25 acres of land are located within the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout (NPKL) in west Bengaluru, covering survey numbers in Bheemanakuppe and Challaghatta.

BDA Commissioner P. Manivannan said the authority is preparing to invite Expressions of Interest for design proposals to assess cost prospects and feasibility through the PPP or EPC model.

Manivannan added that the BDA has onboarded a transaction adviser and cleared several aspects, including land possession.

The site is located near the Challaghatta Metro station and S.M. Krishna Main Road, which will be part of the Bengaluru Business Corridor.

BDA sources stated that about five acres of the identified land have already been allotted, and the authority is making arrangements to relocate those beneficiaries.
