Amitabh Bachchan recalls how Jaya Bachchan was asked to stop using nickname

The veteran actor shared an anecdote about his father requesting Jaya Bachchan to address him by his name instead of 'Lambu ji'.

Amitabh Bachchan recently shared an anecdote about his early years of marriage to Jaya Bachchan during an interaction with actor Ranbir Kapoor on the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. According to the Times of India, the actor revealed that his late father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, once asked Jaya Bachchan to stop calling him 'Lambu ji'.

The megastar explained that Jaya Bachchan had used the nickname affectionately for many years. However, his father eventually intervened and suggested she either use his name or find another way to refer to him. Bachchan said that after this, she started calling him by his name.

The conversation on the show also involved a discussion regarding the height differences within the Bachchan and Kapoor families. Ranbir Kapoor mentioned he had imagined how photographs would look if he were tall like Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt were short like Jaya Bachchan.

Responding to the discussion on height, Amitabh Bachchan stated that he is 6 feet 2 inches tall. He estimated that Jaya Bachchan is approximately 5 feet 3 or 4 inches tall. Kapoor noted that his own height is somewhere around that range as well.

Ranbir Kapoor was appearing on the show alongside Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey to promote their upcoming film Ramayana.
