Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed support for singer Qazi Touqeer, who is currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 20, according to Times Now.
During a YouTube podcast with journalist Shubhankar Mishra, Abdullah said he has been following Touqeer's journey through newspaper reports.
The Chief Minister praised the singer's talent, noting that he has seen him perform at concerts in the past.
Abdullah compared the possibility of Touqeer winning the show to the recent Ranji Trophy achievement by Kashmiri youth.
The singer previously won the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005, a season that also included Arijit Singh, which Abdullah recalled.
When informed that the winner is decided by public voting, Abdullah said, "Then, I will vote for him."
