SP promoted mafia culture and land grabbing in UP, says Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused the Samajwadi Party of fostering lawlessness and attempting to seize properties of prominent families during its rule.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) of encouraging a mafia culture, land grabbing, and lawlessness during its period in power, according to the Hindustan Times.

Speaking at a public meeting at Asuran Crossing on Sunday, Adityanath described the SP as a “mafia-driven party.” He alleged that its leaders frequently tried to take over properties owned by prominent families.

The Chief Minister stated that people linked to the SP would not change their ways and claimed they attempt to grab land whenever they find an opportunity.

Adityanath's remarks came after he inaugurated the first phase of the Godhoiya drain rejuvenation project, which was finished with an expenditure of ₹495.24 crore.

He also laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the drain project, valued at ₹92.72 crore, which is intended to help residents in 17 municipal wards.

Additionally, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Gorakhpur Sewerage Scheme (Zone A-3), a project with an estimated cost of ₹721.40 crore.
