Pulivendula is witnessing change, says Payyavula Keshav

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav alleged that YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a rally to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in Pulivendula.

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said on Sunday that people openly exercising their right to vote in Pulivendula municipality indicates a change in the constituency. According to The Hindu, Keshav noted that the area had been a stronghold for the Y.S. family for decades.

Addressing media persons in Anantapur, Keshav alleged that YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a rally shortly after arriving in Pulivendula to disturb the peace. He claimed Jagan fears his foundation will be shaken if citizens vote freely.

Keshav stated that when Jagan held the rally, people questioned him for causing unrest in the municipality. He further alleged that Jagan staged a protest with party polling agents and brought national media representatives from Bengaluru to give interviews.

The Finance Minister described Jagan's remarks on democracy and elections as laughable. He alleged that during the previous YSRCP regime, the State Election Commissioner had to seek refuge in a neighbouring State and an election official had to approach the court for a transfer.

Keshav said that elections are being conducted peacefully under the government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He claimed Pulivendula is seeing change after nearly four decades of oppression and stated that the YSRCP is being wiped out starting at the village level.
