Russia detains teenager over alleged Moscow park attack plot

The Federal Security Service detained a Russian citizen after the US embassy issued a security alert regarding the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve.

Russian authorities detained a teenager suspected of planning an attack at a Moscow park, according to the Federal Security Service (FSB) via Interfax on Sunday.

The FSB stated the suspect, a Russian citizen, posted TikTok photos wearing tactical clothing and a balaclava while holding what appeared to be an automatic weapon.

The suspect reportedly shared images from the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve in southern Moscow with the caption, “I found a place.”

A search of the individual's home uncovered the clothing and accessories seen in the photos, the FSB said.

The security service also reported that the teen's phone contained searches related to mass killings and terrorist attacks, alongside a subscription to a neo-Nazi Telegram channel.

The detention followed a security alert issued by the US embassy in Moscow on Saturday, which warned of a credible threat at the museum complex.

The FSB said it is grateful to the American side for the information, while the Investigative Committee considers legal action against the suspect.
