Sindhu and Lakshya Sen win Hylo Open titles in Germany

PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen secured the women's and men's singles titles at the $500,000 Hylo Open tournament.

PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen secured the women's and men's singles titles at the $500,000 Hylo Open Super 500 badminton tournament in Saarbrucken, Germany, according to The New Indian Express. Sindhu won the women's title by defeating Denmark's eighth seed Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in 39 minutes. Sen claimed the men's singles title by beating Jonatan Christie 21-17, 21-10.

The victory marks Sindhu's second title of the season, following her win at the Japan Open in July. She also finished as the runner-up at the French Open last week. The world No. 8 earned 9,200 ranking points with this win, which she said helped her strengthen her bid for the season-ending World Tour Finals.

Sindhu stated that she focused on every point and took the lead from the beginning. She added that things are getting better and she is happy with her progress. She also credited her team for their planning.

Sen expressed happiness at returning to winning ways, noting it had been some time since his last tournament win. He mentioned that while previous first-round losses had affected his confidence, his performance throughout this tournament helped rebuild it.

Sen, who previously won the Australian Open and reached the 2025 Hong Kong Open finals, said he was happy to have beaten top-quality opponents convincingly.
