Singh set a new course record of 4:24:29 during the sixth edition of the endurance event in Goa.

Indian Army athlete Biten Singh won the men's title at the sixth edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Goa on Sunday, according to the Free Press Journal. Singh completed the race in 4 hours, 24 minutes and 29 seconds, breaking the previous course record.

The previous record of 4:25:47 was set by Uzbekistan's Konstantin Belousov in 2025. Singh's performance surpassed that time by 1 minute and 18 seconds. More than 2,000 triathletes from 30 countries took part in the event held in Goa.

The competition started at the Miramar beachfront and included a 1.9-km swim, a 90-km cycle, and a 21.1-km run. Singh prepared for the race while serving in Tawang and underwent three months of intensive training.

Singh said he had previously pulled out of the 2024 edition because of dehydration. He noted that he had aimed to break the course record during this year's competition and expressed his happiness after winning. His next goal is to qualify for the IRONMAN World Championship.

In the women's category, Marina Shliakhtina secured the title with a time of 5:30:29. Sabina Iskakova finished second at 5:42:58, while Mellanie Vendt took third with 6:04:54.
