PM Modi attends Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi administered the Oath of Unity in Ekta Nagar to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at the Parade Ground in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on Saturday, October 31, according to the Free Press Journal.

The event marked the 151st birth anniversary of India's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

During the celebrations, Modi witnessed a parade and administered the Oath of Unity to reaffirm commitment to national unity, integrity and security.

The parade included a performance of the national song, 'Vande Mataram', by the Gujarat Police Band, alongside cultural activities and traditional dances.

The National School of Drama organised a theatrical presentation on 'Naxal Mukt Bharat' featuring approximately 2,000 artists from 126 districts affected by Left-Wing Extremism.

Addressing the gathering, Modi said that while independence allows a country to decide its future, a republic gives freedom direction and upholds the dignity of the Constitution.
