Dharam Singh Foundation to hold mass marriage on December 25
The ceremony in Jewargi marks the 90th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh.
The Dharam Singh Foundation will organise a mass marriage ceremony at the Jewargi convention hall in Kalaburagi district on December 25, according to The Hindu.
Minor Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh said the event marks the 90th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh. He stated the foundation is extending support to rural families across the Kalyana Karnataka region due to the prevailing drought situation.
The foundation will provide participating couples with clothes, mangalsutras, essential household articles, and transportation. Dr. Singh said there is no restriction on the number of couples who can participate.
Interested brides and grooms must register by calling 72472 42929 and submitting documents by December 10. A committee will be formed to scrutinise applications and verify documents.
Minister Ajay Singh appealed to families across the seven districts of Kalyana Karnataka to use the initiative. He noted that in 2022, the foundation organised a similar ceremony in Jewargi for 108 couples.
Expected attendees include AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, D.K. Shivakumar, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara.
