The US President described the martial arts executive as a fighter and warrior in a social media post on Saturday.
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he has offered the position of White House press secretary to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President and CEO Dana White. Trump shared the offer in a post on Truth Social, describing White as a "violent Fighter and Warrior."
According to reports from Firstpost, WION, and Mint, the press secretary role has been vacant since October 16, following the departure of Katie Zacharia. Trump also suggested that White bring several UFC fighters to help defend against the "Lunatic Left."
White, who was in London on Saturday for a boxing event, responded on Instagram with a photo of himself behind the White House press secretary's lectern and the caption, "On to the next chapter." However, it was not clear if this indicated acceptance or was a joke.
In a news conference, White stated he has several existing jobs and said he would travel to Washington on Monday to meet the President. He noted, "I'm sure we'll have something to talk about after that."
The offer follows a period of administrative changes and Republican losses in the US midterm elections. On Friday, Trump announced that Stephen Miller would replace Susie Wiles as chief of staff.
