Opposition should support government on national security, says Nitin Nabin

The BJP president urged political parties to follow the approach of L K Advani regarding matters of country security.

BJP president Nitin Nabin on Sunday told opposition parties to adopt the approach of former deputy prime minister L K Advani regarding national security. Speaking at a function in New Delhi to celebrate Advani's 100th birthday, Nabin said political parties should unite with the government during national security challenges.

According to the Times of India, Nabin recalled how Advani used to state in Parliament that the BJP would support the government on security issues even while in the Opposition. He described the veteran leader as an inspiration for party workers and noted his commitment to a nation-first ideology.

Nabin also spoke about the partnership between Advani and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said their ability to work together helped the BJP expand from having only two Lok Sabha MPs.

The BJP president mentioned Advani's role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and the Ram Rath Yatra. He stated that the current Ram Temple in Ayodhya serves as a way to honour Advani's historic journey.

Senior Union minister and BJP treasurer Piyush Goyal also attended the event. Goyal said that Advani worked with complete selflessness and treated party workers like family members.
