US detains Lawrence Bishnoi aide Harry Boxer

The gangster, who operated an overseas criminal module, is being sought by Indian agencies for extortion and firing incidents.

The United States has detained Harichand Jat, also known as Harry Boxer, a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, according to reports by The Times of India and WION. Indian security and intelligence agencies have been monitoring his movements following a firing incident at the Mumbai residence of filmmaker Rohit Shetty.

Boxer, a former boxing coach from Rajasthan, allegedly operated a core module of the Bishnoi criminal syndicate from North America. He is linked to international extortion rackets, threat rings, and targeted attacks. He has also been associated with the Randeep Malik gang.

According to ANI, citing Delhi Police sources, Boxer was linked to a network suspected of supplying weapons for a firing incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff. He also allegedly sent a voice note to the manager of actor Ranveer Singh demanding a ransom of Rs 20 crore.

DCP Special Cell Praveen Tripathi told ANI that Boxer and Anil Pandit are part of the Randeep Malik gang. He stated they used encrypted channels to receive and follow instructions.

Boxer faces multiple criminal charges across several states, including murder, attempted murder, armed assaults, and extortion. He has been absconding since 2022.

Indian agencies are currently coordinating to secure his legal proceedings and pursue his return to India. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to coordinate with US authorities to facilitate this.
