Pardeep Singh and Saveer Khan face charges for extortion-linked shootings in Surrey.
Two men were arrested and charged in connection with a shooting at comedian Kapil Sharma's restaurant in Surrey, Canada, according to the Times of India. The suspects, identified as Pardeep Singh and Saveer Khan, both aged 22, were taken into custody on November 1.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) stated that the October 16, 2025, shooting at the cafe was the third such incident since the business opened in July of that year. While the restaurant was closed during the gunfire, two employees were inside and remained unhurt.
The suspects also face charges regarding a separate shooting on October 12 at a Surrey residence, where a woman was injured. Police described both incidents as being related to extortion.
Each man has been charged with one count of reckless discharge of a firearm for the October 12 incident and another count for the October 16 shooting. The BC Extortion Task Force took over the investigations after finding potential links between the two cases.
Chief Superintendent Duncan Pound, Lower Mainland District Operations Officer and Assistant District Commander, said the charges followed a year of intensive investigation involving search warrants and evidence analysis. He noted that the legal action serves as a warning to those committing extortion-related violence that police are working together to protect the public.
