The Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop a dedicated ‘Singapore City’ in Sector 7 near the Noida International Airport at Jewar, according to the Hindustan Times.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) said on October 30 that the project aims to attract investments from Singapore and drive real estate growth.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met a 14-member high-level delegation of Singapore industrialists and investors in Lucknow on Wednesday to discuss the project.
The delegation, led by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), expressed interest in sectors such as logistics, semiconductors, data centres, green energy, urban planning, and hospitality.
A statement from the chief minister said key areas of cooperation include multimodal logistics, high-tech manufacturing, cloud services, artificial intelligence, and clean technologies.
Adityanath noted that the state accounts for approximately 55 per cent of India’s total mobile phone production and 60 per cent of electronic component manufacturing.
