Uttar Pradesh strengthens recruitment examination processes

The state is implementing reforms to make public recruitment more transparent and secure, according to The Statesman.

The Uttar Pradesh government is making efforts to ensure recruitment examinations are more secure, transparent and well-organised, according to The Statesman. These reforms follow the Union Government passing the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has worked towards making the public recruitment process more accountable. The state is also taking a strict approach against cheating and irregularities to strengthen the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPE SSC).

Former DGP Dr. Prashant Kumar was appointed as Chairman of the UPE SSC in December 2025. Since taking charge, the Commission has moved several stalled recruitment processes, including an Assistant Professor re-examination for 910 posts held on 18 and 19 April 2026.

For that Assistant Professor recruitment, 39,192 candidates appeared and results were announced on 9 June. Interviews were scheduled from July 21 to August 13, though the matter remains subject to Supreme Court consideration.

The Commission also announced written examination results for 111 degree college Principal posts on 12 October 2026, with interviews set for 27-30 October. Additionally, final selections for 624 lecturer posts were announced in July 2026.

In the TGT recruitment process, written examinations were held on 3 and 4 June 2026 with results announced on 30 June. Examination centres were monitored through an AI-based Control Command Room at the Commission headquarters.
