Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu joins RSS march in Tamil Nadu
Vembu urged young people to take an active role in nation-building during the Patha Sanchalan in Sankarankovil.
Zoho founder and chief scientist Sridhar Vembu participated in a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) route march in the Sankarankovil area of Tamil Nadu's Tenkasi district on Sunday, November 1, according to India Today.
The Patha Sanchalan was part of the organisation's Vijayadashami celebrations and was organised across more than 100 locations in the state. This event marked the second and final phase of the exercise, following earlier marches on October 25.
BJP Tenkasi district president Ananthan Ayyasamy said Vembu addressed participants at an event related to the march, speaking about nationalism and self-reliance. Vembu stated that the RSS does not discriminate against people based on wealth or caste.
Ayyasamy said Vembu urged young people to take an active role in nation-building and recalled the RSS's relief work during the December 2023 floods in the Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts.
The Zoho founder also mentioned that hundreds of volunteers worked through organisations such as Seva Bharathi in areas where most residents were not Hindu.
Ayyasamy noted that Vembu is actively involved in RSS activities in the Tenkasi region, attends local meetings known as baithaks, and sponsors sessions on Bharatiya culture and traditions.
