Naman Dhir wins Impact Player of the Series medal in New Zealand

The Indian all-rounder received the award following his performances in India's 3-2 T20I series victory.

India all-rounder Naman Dhir was awarded the Impact Player of the Series medal following his performances during his first overseas tour in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, according to ANI and The Tribune.

Strength and conditioning coach Adrian Le Roux presented the medal to the 26-year-old in the dressing room after the final T20I in Hamilton on Sunday.

Dhir scored 138 runs across five matches, including an unbeaten 42 off 15 deliveries in the opening game and a winning boundary in the third T20I.

The all-rounder, who has played 10 T20Is and three ODIs for India, also contributed in the field, though he did not take a wicket in his two overs of bowling.

Dhir expressed his delight at the recognition and the series win, stating it was satisfying to win an overseas series during his first tour abroad.

New Zealand won the fifth T20I by seven wickets to secure a consolation win, but India had already won the series by taking the first three games. Glenn Phillips was named Player of the Series.

The teams will move to Auckland for the first ODI match on Wednesday.
