District Collector C.M. Saikanth Varma declared a holiday for schools and Anganwadi centres following a heavy rainfall warning for Cyclone Murasu.

All schools, junior colleges, and Anganwadi centres in Guntur district will be closed on Monday, November 2, 2026, according to The Hindu.

District Collector C.M. Saikanth Varma announced the holiday in response to a heavy rainfall warning caused by Cyclone Murasu. The closure includes educational institutions under all managements.

The Collector stated that the cyclone may result in heavy rainfall and strong winds. People have been advised to stay indoors unless it is absolutely necessary to go out.

Safety precautions include staying away from rivers, rivulets, and streams, as well as avoiding dilapidated buildings. The public was also told to refrain from fishing and to avoid touching wet electricity poles.
