Delhi-NCR implements GRAP Stage-II as air pollution levels deteriorate
The Commission for Air Quality Management invoked 'Very Poor' air quality measures across the National Capital Region on Monday, November 2.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) implemented Stage-II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across the entire National Capital Region (NCR) with immediate effect on Monday, November 2, according to Mint.
The decision follows a sharp deterioration in air pollution levels. Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 324 on Monday, placing the city in the 'Very Poor' category.
The air quality has declined steadily over the last few days. On October 31, the AQI was 117 in the 'Moderate' category, before rising to 261 in the 'Poor' category on November 1.
The CAQM invoked these 'Very Poor' air quality measures ahead of Diwali.
