Congress leaders engage in heated confrontation in Delhi over party appointments

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Jukkal MLA T. Laxmikantha Rao reportedly clashed during a party rally in the national capital.

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Jukkal MLA T. Laxmikantha Rao reportedly had a heated exchange at a Delhi hotel on Sunday, according to the Deccan Chronicle. The dispute occurred during a trip to the capital for a Congress rally against the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.

The confrontation allegedly involved disagreements regarding the selection of district party presidents for Sangareddy and Kamareddy. Sources stated that the argument escalated, with Rajanarsimha allegedly using insults and making threats of physical violence against Laxmikantha Rao.

The incident took place while Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, and several ministers were also in Delhi. A few legislators from the Mahbubnagar and Rangareddy districts reportedly witnessed the exchange.

The tension between the two leaders has been growing for several weeks over various organisational appointments. The minister reportedly objected to the involvement of the Jukkal MLA in these selection processes.

Laxmikantha Rao has lodged a complaint with the TPCC leadership. He is reportedly preparing to raise the matter with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to seek action against the minister.
