CM Mohan Yadav plants Sankalp Tree in Bhopal on MP Foundation Day

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav marked Madhya Pradesh's 71st Foundation Day by planting a tree using soil from all 55 districts.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav planted a ‘Sankalp Tree’ at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal on Sunday, November 1. According to the Free Press Journal, the event marked the state's 71st Foundation Day and the start of activities for Army Day 2027.

The tree was planted with soil gathered from various towns, cities, and villages across the state's 55 districts through the ‘Meri Maati’ campaign. This initiative was a joint effort by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the Indian Army.

Yadav visited a military exhibition displaying modern weapons, technological progress, and the strength of the Indian Army. He stated that Bhopal will host several military events from November 1 until January 15, 2027.

The upcoming programmes will feature combat demonstrations, military exhibitions, an Army Day parade, and displays of operational capabilities. Yadav said these celebrations would allow the public to learn about the achievements and courage of Indian soldiers.

The Chief Minister praised the NCC for fostering leadership, patriotism, and discipline in youth. He also mentioned the Agniveer scheme and its role in encouraging young people to join the armed forces.

Yadav noted that 2026 is being observed as ‘Kisan Kalyan Varsh’, while 2027 will be celebrated as ‘Yuva Varsh’ in the state. He added that ministers will attend Foundation Day programmes in different districts to honour competition winners.
