Palnadu police ask YSRCP leaders to stay indoors during municipal polling

Former Minister Vidadala Rajani and other YSRCP leaders were told to remain at home until voting concluded on Sunday.

Police in Palnadu district asked YSRCP leaders to remain at their homes until municipal polling concluded on Sunday, according to The Hindu.

The leaders instructed to stay indoors include former Minister Vidadala Rajani in Chilakaluripet, former legislator Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy in Macherla, and Bolla Brahmanaidu in Vinukonda.

Police stated they have allowed all voters, including these leaders, to cast their votes at their respective polling booths to ensure smooth elections.

Superintendent of Police Jagadish Adahalli told The Hindu that preventive measures were strengthened due to previous election-related violations in the district.

These measures included police pickets, intensified surveillance, binding over troublemakers, and asking potential troublemakers to leave the towns.

The Superintendent of Police also inspected polling stations in Sattenapalli to review security and directed personnel to take legal action against anyone disrupting public order.
