US revokes more than 300,000 visas under Secretary Marco Rubio

The State Department said the revocations are the highest in American history as the Trump administration reviews foreign nationals holding US visas.

The US State Department has revoked more than 300,000 visas under Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to Telangana Today.

The department stated on Saturday evening that this is the highest number of revocations in American history.

Most cancellations were linked to criminal activity, public safety concerns, immigration violations, fraud, or misrepresentation.

The department said over 4,000 visas were revoked for birth tourism, with more than 700 of those belonging to Chinese nationals.

A Continuous Vetting Center established in Washington, D.C., in 2025 revoked over 23,000 visas.

The department reported that 25 per cent of those specific revocations were for assault and related crimes, while 22 per cent were for driving under the influence.

The State Department did not provide a country-wise breakdown of the total revocations or specify how many were held by Indian nationals.
