Security forces recovered the bodies from a hilly stretch while searching for two youths who went missing in October.

The operation was carried out by joint teams including the Manipur Police, CoBRA, CRPF, Assam Rifles, and RAF. The search took place in the area east of NH-2 along the SP Road, which is a hilly route connecting the Senapati and Kangpokpi districts.

The identification process for the deceased is currently underway. Police are also carrying out the required legal formalities.

In a separate incident on Saturday, police reported that three people from the Kuki community were killed during a gunfight between rival armed groups in Noney district.
