Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu win Hylo Open singles titles
Indian shuttlers secured both men's and women's singles crowns at the Super 500 tournament in Saarbrücken, Germany.
Indian badminton players PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen won the men's and women's singles titles at the Hylo Open 2026 in Saarbrücken, Germany, on Sunday. According to reports from The Times of India and The Hindu, the two athletes secured straight-game victories in the finals of the USD 500,000 Super 500 tournament.
PV Sindhu, the 31-year-old World No. 8, defeated Denmark's Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in a match that lasted 39 minutes. This victory marks Sindhu's second title of the season following her win at the Japan Open in July.
The win earned Sindhu 9,200 ranking points, which she said would boost her confidence and strengthen her bid for the season-ending BWF World Tour Finals. She noted that her team had worked hard and that she was happy things were going according to plan.
In the men's singles final, Lakshya Sen defeated Indonesia's Jonatan Christie 21-17, 21-10. The win ended a title drought for the 25-year-old that had lasted since the Australian Open in November 2025.
Sen, who entered the final with a 3-4 head-to-head record against Christie, said the victory was a confidence booster after experiencing first-round losses and injury-related issues. The result levelled his career head-to-head record against Christie at 4-4.
