PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen secured the women's and men's singles titles at the Super 500 tournament on Sunday.
PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen claimed the women's and men's singles titles at the Hylo Open Super 500 badminton tournament in Saarbrucken, Germany, on Sunday, according to Hindustan Times, The New Indian Express and The Tribune.
In the women's singles final, double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu defeated eighth seed and world No. 25 Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark 21-12, 21-14 in 39 minutes. The victory marks Sindhu's second title of the season, following her win at the Japan Open in July.
Sindhu, who was runner-up at the French Open last week, said she focused on every point and took the lead from the beginning. She added that things are getting better and she is happy with her progress.
In the men's singles final, Lakshya Sen defeated Jonatan Christie 21-17, 21-10 to complete the double for India. Sen, who had previously won the Australian Open, said he was happy to get back to winning ways after a period of low confidence.
The win for the world No. 8 Sindhu earned her 9,200 ranking points to support her bid for the season-ending World Tour Finals. Sen noted that his performance throughout the tournament helped rebuild his confidence after recent losses.
