The Indian Army athlete finished with a time of 4:24:29 to secure the title in the sixth edition of the event.

Indian Army athlete Biten Singh won the sixth edition of Ironman 70.3 Goa on Sunday by setting a new course record. According to The Hawk, Singh clocked 4:24:29, surpassing the previous record of 4:25:47 established by Uzbekistan’s Konstantin Belousov in 2025.

The competition in Margao involved more than 2,000 triathletes representing 30 countries. The race included a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km cycle, and a 21.1 km run, beginning at the Miramar beachfront.

Singh, who withdrew from the 2024 edition because of dehydration, said he had completed three months of training in Tawang before the race. He stated that he was very happy and had previously targeted breaking the record.

In the women's category, Marina Shliakhtina finished first with a time of 5:30:29. Sabina Iskakova took second place in 5:42:58, while Mellanie Vendt was third with a time of 6:04:54.

The relay category saw Team Fit Swaggers Goa take the top spot in 4:33:24. They were followed by Team Serious About Training in 4:35:22 and Team Airforce 2 in 4:47:04.

The event was organised by Yoska in collaboration with the Government of Goa and Ironman. Singh said he now intends to train for the full-distance Ironman and the Ironman World Championship.
