Rajasthan batter Karan Lamba scores 447 runs in three Ranji Trophy matches
The 21-year-old batter scored three consecutive centuries after spending two seasons on the sidelines.
Rajasthan batter Karan Lamba has amassed 447 runs in three matches during the ongoing Ranji Trophy season, according to Sportstar. The 21-year-old has recorded three consecutive centuries, including scores of 113 and 13 against Tamil Nadu, 194 against Railways, and 27 and 100 against Uttarakhand.
Lamba, who hails from Hanumangarh, spent two seasons watching from the sidelines without a Ranji Trophy appearance. He said he used that time to improve his game and prepare for future opportunities by practising on different kinds of wickets.
To prepare for different conditions, Lamba travelled to Delhi to play matches and arranged separate practice sessions for red-ball and white-ball cricket. He also focused on strength and power through weight training.
Lamba credited his cousin, former India under-19 fast bowler Abhimanyu Lamba, for providing mental conditioning and helping him develop a positive mindset. The two worked together at an academy in Jaipur, which features floodlights that allow Lamba to practise at night.
Lamba, whose father is a farmer, said his family has been completely supportive of his ambitions. He noted that they encouraged him to avoid comfort zones and give his everything to his pursuits.
The batter, who admires K.L. Rahul, said he is focused on adapting to conditions for the upcoming match against Himachal Pradesh in Dharamshala.
