The deaths occurred during an exchange of fire between rival armed groups in Noney district on Saturday.
Three men from the Kuki community were killed during a gunfight between rival armed groups in Manipur's Noney district on Saturday, according to The New Indian Express and The Hindu.
The exchange of fire took place on Saturday morning at Kekru Naga village in a forested hill area and lasted for several hours.
The deceased have been identified as Thanglensang Singson, Thangkhosei Haokip, and Lamminsang Kipgen, who were residents of Churachandpur district and described by police as village volunteers.
Security forces recovered ammunition, a drone, improvised explosives, four automatic assault rifles, and a single-barrel rifle from the site, as reported by the Deccan Chronicle.
The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex body of the Kuki community, issued a statement alleging that Naga militant groups were responsible for the killings.
