SC Delhi stage late comeback to beat Mumbai City 3-2

Carlos Fortes, Akshat Mehra and Juan Sebastian Pena scored late to secure the visitors' first win of the season.

SC Delhi secured their first win of the season with a 3-2 comeback victory against Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday.

Mumbai City took a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Muhammad Ajsal in the 6th minute and Zothanpuia in the 27th minute.

The visitors began their comeback in the 73rd minute when Carlos Fortes tapped in a ball following a corner that goalkeeper TP Rehenesh failed to collect.

Substitute Akshat Mehra equalised in the 92nd minute after his long-range strike slipped through the hands of Rehenesh.

Juan Sebastian Pena scored the winning goal in the 94th minute after a solo run following a misplaced pass by Akash Mishra.

Mumbai City head coach Manolo Marquez said it was not normal to concede such goals in the final minutes and described the last goal as a joke.
