Indian Army organises mega medical camp in Tripura's Unakoti district

More than 400 people received healthcare services and medicines during the camp held under Operation Samaritan at Ledrai Dewan High School.

The Spear Corps of the Indian Army held a large-scale medical camp at Ledrai Dewan High School in Machmara, Unakoti district, on Saturday. According to ANI, the event was conducted under Operation Samaritan to provide healthcare to remote areas.

The camp was a collaborative effort involving the Machmara Primary Health Centre and the District Health and Family Welfare Society of Unakoti. A combined group of army doctors and civilian medical staff, including a physician and an orthopaedic specialist, attended the camp.

Over 400 people, including rural residents, ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and next of kin of armed forces personnel, benefited from the initiative. They received consultations, diagnostic tests, and various medicines such as paediatric syrups and nutritional supplements.

Medical services offered included general check-ups, orthopaedic evaluations, and screenings for acute and chronic illnesses. The team also distributed antiseptics and ointments to patients.

The programme included awareness sessions on nutrition, personal hygiene, and the prevention of seasonal and lifestyle-related diseases. Indian Army representatives stated that the Spear Corps aims to bridge healthcare gaps in remote regions and strengthen ties with civilians.
