Jammu: Government offices to reopen on November 2

The Civil Secretariat and other administrative offices will resume operations in Jammu on Monday following the restoration of the Darbar Move.

The Jammu administration is set to reopen the Civil Secretariat and various government offices on Monday, according to The Tribune. This marks the return of the Darbar Move after the government functioned in Srinagar for six months.

Authorities have finished preparations to accommodate government staff in Jammu for the upcoming six-month period. Convoys transporting employees have already reached the city.

Renovation and maintenance work has been completed at the Civil Secretariat, which contains the offices of the Chief Minister and ministers. Residential quarters and other government buildings have also been renovated.

The administration has carried out civic improvements in Jammu, such as repairing roads, blacktopping, cleaning footpaths, and painting dividers. Security has been increased, with police and paramilitary personnel deployed at vital installations and key areas.

Offices that followed a five-day work week closed in Srinagar on October 30, while those on a six-day schedule finished work on October 31. The Omar Abdullah-led government restored the Darbar Move in October 2025.
